AWARDS - Finance magazine grants two awards to Turkish participation bank

Euromoney, a prominent finance magazine, has given two awards to a Turkish participation bank, the director general of the bank said Wednesday.

Kuveyt Türk Director General Ufuk Uyan said Euromoney had honored the bank with two awards, including "best sukuk house" and "most innovative deal" awards for 2011. (source)


 Established in 1989 as a participation bank, Kuwait Türk's shareholders are Kuveyt Finance House (62 percent), Kuveyt Social Security Institution (9 percent), Islamic Development Bank (9 percent), General Directorate of Associations Turkey (18 percent) and other shareholders (2 percent).

The bank posted 128 million Turkish Liras in net profits for the first nine months of 2010. The assets of the bank reached 8.6 billion liras and its credits rose to 6.04 billion liras.
