TRADE - OIC/Trade: Chambers from OIC members gather in Ankara

ISTANBUL, 17 Rajab/June 20 (IINA)-An education program for trade and industry chambers’ officials in countries with membership in the Organization of the Islamic Conference, OIC, started in Ankara.

The event aims to improve the capacity and effectiveness of the chambers in these countries.
It is an initiative by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) and Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC). The Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TİKA), also supports the event that will continue until June 24. (source)


TOBB chairman M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and ICCI Chairman Sheikh Saleh Kamel are attending the opening session this morning at the TOBB facilities. Representatives from the IDB are also attending.
Hisarcıklıoğlu, who is also the vice chairman of ICCI along with the Eurochambers of Europe, said in a written statement Sunday that the content of this program was crucial for both the chambers in Turkey and the country.
“The Turkish business world is expanding through a wider geographical area today in fields such as foreign investments, land freight, tourism and contractor businesses, along with foreign trade.
Our companies which have entered new markets where the candidates need addressees who can deliver high quality services, lead them and most importantly, who speak the same language with the business world. Trade and industry chambers are the most suitable addressees.”
