BANKING - Kuveyt Turk launches information technologies R&D Center

Kuveyt Türk Participation Bank becomes the first bank operating in the Turkish financial industry to receive R&D Center certification


Kuveyt Türk has received certification for the R&D Center formed under its Information Technologies Group. With the participation of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, certification was awarded during a meeting held at the Four Seasons Hotel, over the weekend.(source)


Established for the systematic application of scientific methods on the technological product and service development processes of Kuveyt Türk Participation Bank, the Information Technologies R&D Center is the first of its kind in the banking industry.

A statement made by Bank said; “Our objective with the activities to be undertaken by our R&D Center is the pursuit of innovative efficiency and quality-oriented approaches. With the added benefit from scientific studies made on the subject, we can further advance our development of the technological products and services that are among the most important components for achieving competitive advantage in the financial industry. In this way, we aim to provide technological information commercially and contribute to the employment of Turkey’s skilled workforce in this field.”

Contributing to the country’s economy while reducing foreign dependence in technology and the financial industries.

After that, Our Information Technologies R&D Center is continuing its activities in the area of banking technologies with an 80-strong staff, three of whom are PhD students and 16 of whom have master’s degrees.  The Center’s current projects include the Core Banking Transformation Program; Performance Management Systems, which allow us to engage in performance measurement and management activities at different levels; Information Security Solutions, for the safekeeping of information systems and components; and Business Intelligence Solution”
